VOLUNTEER WITH US
It's fantastic that you want to volunteer with us! We have numerous different projects and roles available to volunteer with the Foundation. We have suggested a few roles in particular for which we are looking to recruit, however, if you have a specific set of skills or interests that you are wanting to utilise that is not listed, please do still apply.
Volunteer Roles
Matchday Volunteer
Matchday volunteers work in the fan village at a home game, helping out with the Foundation Activities for the fans. We would need your help to set up, run and pack away activities, interact with fans and talk to them about our services.
We understand that you might not be available for every match, but would need to know in advance your availability. There may even be an opportunity for you to watch the game after your shift!
Events Fundraiser
We get the opportunity to attend and sometimes host our own events to promote and raise funds for our charity.
We are looking for volunteers to help support us by running a fundraising stall at external events or helping us with internal ones.
You can be as involved in this area as you feel comfortable, from lending a helping hand, find external events for us to attend, or planning your own event!
Walk Leader
We run numerous free wellbeing walks around the city to help promote exercise, connection and wellbeing.
In order to expand into different areas, we need volunteers to help us lead these walks. We would provide you with the relevant training you needed, you just need to be a welcoming friendly person, with a desire to help and spend time outdoors.
This would be a perfect role for anyone with a bit of local knowledge, wanting to be more active
‘Let’s Talk’ Mental Health Hub Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate our peer to peer support hub on a Wednesday evening.
The volunteer will work with a team of other volunteer facilitators to enable the weekly delivery of a peer to peer support hub at the LNER Stadium.
They will engage with and communicate effectively with a diverse group of participants to ensure individuals feel able to contribute and are listened to within sessions, and will be an advocate for positive mental health and wellbeing.
Training and support is provided for all volunteers.
Conversation Club Teaching Assistant
We are looking for people to support our Conversation Club classes which we deliver to individuals who do not speak English as their first language.
For this role, we would expect a volunteer to be enthusiastic and have an interest in language, culture or community integration.
Teaching experience is not essential, and this is an excellent opportunity to build confidence in supporting learners.
The role will also suit those who wish to develop existing teaching skills with a different demographic.
Youth Club
Volunteer
If you have a sense of humour, a passion for helping young people and an open-minded approach then this volunteer role could be for you.
We are opening a brand-new youth club and looking for individuals who want to be part of this exciting opportunity. Experience of working with young people is advantageous, but not essential as training can be given to the right individuals. Starting three evenings a week (Mon, Weds, Fri) 4pm till 6pm. With the possibility with the youth club opening 5 evenings a week.
We want all young people to have the chance to participate in fun activities, at the same time being educated and feeling empowered to push themselves and have opportunities to develop various skills that they could use in the future and beyond.
Green Space Volunteer
We are inviting people to join our community green space projects within the Sincil Bank neighbourhood in Lincoln. There are two sites; St Andrews Garden situated near to the LNER Stadium which we support a local community group to manage, and Sincil Community Garden situated next to the river.
Whether you have skills and experience of gardening, or are a complete beginner wanting to get involved, we would love for you to join us in helping to see these green spaces flourish. Volunteering can be flexible with a weekly session available in addition to various days/times organised throughout the year. All equipment is provided.
Football Development Coaching Volunteer
Football development volunteers support our coaches in the evenings and at weekends. We would need your help in supporting the holistic development of our players, specifically this would usually entail helping to set up and pack away equipment and interacting with players to support the coaching points of the lead coaches.
We understand that due to the nature of the activities the sessions are generally in the evenings and at weekends and that this may mean you cannot attend every session, but we would need to know in advance your availability. Volunteering like this may satisfy your interests as a hobby or it may even motivate you to start your potential future career. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
