The Foundation recently welcomed first-team goalkeeper Zach Jeacock down to attend a men’s walking football session.
The 23-year-old has made 14 senior appearances since joining the Imps from Birmingham City in the summer. Zach ditched the gloves on this occasion getting stuck in outfield, obviously at a steady pace, and even managed to bag himself the opening goal.
Zach said: “It’s something different that I haven’t done before, it was nice to give back to the community and a chance to show our appreciation.”

Ian Johns, health and wellbeing coach at the Foundation said: “Walking football is really good for people’s mental wellbeing, mainly because it gives them the opportunity to get out and talk to people. The physical aspect is a bonus as well.”
The Foundation’s evening men’s walking football session has recently moved from a Wednesday evening to a Thursday evening so that more of the 3G surface at the LNER Stadium could be used to accommodate the large numbers.
Foundation participant Richard Sharpe, a 67-year-old business manager, said: “It’s the best way to destress, the rush it gives me after playing makes me feel like I’m back in school.
“It allows people another chance to play football that thought they would have to give it up.”
The Foundation provides a further daytime walking football session for men, alongside walking football sessions specific for female players. More information can be found here on men's sessions and here for women's sessions.
