Lincoln City scored late on to take a well-deserved point from an entertaining game at the LNER Stadium.
Barnsley were the visitors, and with Lincoln’s recent good record against the Tykes, combined with new manager Michael Skubala’s first home game, there was a bumper crowd to add extra spice to the occasion.
The Imps got off to a great start when Jack Burroughs was fouled in the box in the 4th minute.
Up stepped Danny Mandroiu who sent the Barnsley goalkeeper the wrong way and whacked the ball home.
Lincoln were now in control of the game and Jovon Makama had a good chance which was saved from a tight angle.
After half-time Barnsley started to put on a show and increased the pressure on Jensen’s goal.
A scramble forced the Imps goalie into a great save and the Lincoln fans were getting nervous.
Lincoln’s minds were blown as Barnsley scored two goals in four minutes.
First Cotter met a deep cross from the left and tapped in at the back post to send the Barnsley fans crazy.
Just 4 minutes later, they scored again. Another cross, this time from the right, and McAtee slotted into the goalkeeper's left corner.
Lincoln fans were losing hope but TJ Eyoma smashed the ball home from a corner to give Lincoln the point that they needed.
Lincoln now have three tricky away games before returning home on the 16th of December against Reading.
