We are celebrating the launch of our brand-new Lincoln City Football Academy for Women, which will provide a boost for females aged 16 to 18 who are aspiring to have a career in football.
Recruited academy players will be on a full-time 2-year scholarship accessing at least 12 hours training and support each week from UEFA B qualified Lincoln City coaches, whilst representing the Lincoln City FC in regional and national competitions. Starting in time for September 2021, this will form an integral part of the female player pathway, with the added value of industry expertise.
Academy players will be studying towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A-Levels), ensuring they not only excel on the pitch, but also underpin that skill with knowledge about the sport that could lead to a career on or off the pitch.
The aim of the Lincoln City Football Academy for Women is to help young players maximise their potential in football and in their education. It will put well-being and personal development at the heart of the academy curriculum. We will have an aim to develop well-rounded individuals as well as high-quality players.
