Girls Development Centre

Lincoln City Foundation are excited to announce the launch of the new Girls Development Centre, as part of our Girls Pathway.

Through the Girls Pathway the Foundation aim to provide opportunities for girls to play football and develop their confidence, as well as identify and develop future potential players by providing accessible, and high-quality training environments.

The restructuring of the Foundation’s Girls Pathway means that the Girls Development Centre sits beneath the Girls Academy, with both having U9-U11 age groups.

If you are interested in joining our Girls pathway then please sign-up for our summer trials here: https://www.participant.co.uk/lcfcset/event/2324_lincoln_city_foundation_girls_pathway_open_session_u9-u16_07082023#init.

The new Girls Development Centre is similar to, and will run alongside, the FA’s successful Wildcats and Squad Girls programmes. All three of these programmes aim to help girls in their first steps into football.

The Girls Development Centre is unique, however, as it will have a competitive element, with an emphasis on skill development and potential fixtures. An aim of this Centre will be to develop players with potential to join the Girls Academy or the Girls Emerging Talent Centre.

It is the Foundation’s aspiration to support grassroots football by being able to signpost players from these programmes to grassroots football clubs with a shared ethos of wanting to increase opportunities for girls to play football in an inclusive and confidence boosting environment.

Joe Money, football development coordinator and player development lead said: “The introduction of our new Girls Development Centre is something we’re delighted with here at the Foundation, we believe it is another positive step and message of intent in our mission to play our part in developing women and girls football across Lincolnshire.”
