Foundation offer Project B1 Blind Football sessions

Updated: Jun 17

Lincoln City Foundation now hold regular Project B1 Blind Football sessions on the 3G pitch at the LNER Stadium.

Project B1 is an opportunity for players with a visual impairment to play football in a fun and safe environment.

The aim of B1 is to introduce more blind players to the game through adapted practices and competitive play formats - it is a fully accessible, small sided version of blind football that works on all the fundamental techniques needed to play the full version of blind football.

Please note that the sessions are also open to those who do not have visual impairments and the necessary equipment can be provided to participants so they can join in.

Sessions are open to participants aged 5 to 15 and also 16 plus.

Seb (aged 6) attended our launch session in March and has attended sessions since.

Seb’s mother said: ‘When Seb was diagnosed with an incurable eye condition we didn’t think football would be an option for him. We are incredibly happy to be proven wrong, Seb adores blind football.

“It is very inclusive for all levels of sight impairment with lots of guidance and support. It has improved Seb’s confidence and given him a club to talk to his friends about.

“We are so thankful to Lincoln City Foundation for these sessions.”

Planned session dates for the summer are as follows:

· Saturday 6 July (1-2pm)

· Saturday 13 July (1-2pm)

· Saturday 27 July (1-2pm)
