The Foundation took the opportunity to show off their work in the community against Derby County around the LNER Stadium.
The official Foundation matchday was used to raise awareness of opportunities that the charity offers to local people, such as sport and physical activity, healthier communities, and education and employability.
Staff handed out flyers for Foundation activities including Fighting Fit, the Sport BTEC course and Football Development.
Stalls were set up at Poacher’s Den, Branston Legends Lounge, the fanzone and the club shop, with cake, table football, Lego and other entertainment available at Poacher’s Den.
There was also a PAN multi-sport session for City fans to enjoy, a B1 blind football session, a walking football game and a women and girls session.
Visitors were encouraged to ‘bring a pound to the ground’ to support the Foundation’s work, and supporters could take part in a raffle to win a signed Lincoln City home shirt.
Foundation programme participants took part in a half-time parade during the game, to showcase the impact that the charity has on the local community.
Dave Valentine, 79, was attending the Foundation match and said: “I’m here for the Fighting Fit group, which is to get us fit in spite of our cancer diagnosis. It works you hard, but it’s good fun, you make some good friends and hopefully it keeps you fit and well.”
Ben Haigh, 38, said: “The Lincoln City Foundation is really good. It’s inclusive, and there are lots of opportunities for the audience to have a kick around before the game.”
Abby Foster, 46, said: “My two love coming to play here, and it’s keeping kids fit and active.”
Emma Crellin, 52, said: “We’re season ticket holders in the main stand. We’re a big supporter of the Foundation because we’ve seen a lot of the work they do, with my daughter playing football anyway.
“The work they do for mental health is just fantastic. It’s helping all sorts of people in all sorts of circumstances.”
