Members of the Foundation's Fighting Fit programme who are taking on the Lincoln 10k to raise funds for the charity.

The Fighting Fit programme aims to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals living with cancer by keeping them active through physical activity sessions and forming a safe space where participants can talk freely with each other and gain peer support.

Completing the 10k distance will be a big challenge for those taking part, but one which they will support each other to train for and complete, alongside managing their cancer diagnoses.

Participating in the event will also help raise further awareness of the Fighting Fit programme helping to make more people aware of the support available to those living with cancer in Lincolnshire.

Phill Watson, health and wellbeing leader at the Foundation said: “Our Fighting Fit programme is formed of some very inspirational people, and their participation in the Lincoln 10k shows even more that you can overcome barriers whilst living with a long-term health condition such as cancer.”

The Foundation’s Fighting Fit programme is now delivered in eight locations across the county, and funds raised from members taking on the Lincoln 10k will support the ongoing delivery of the cancer care programme, as well as helping to expand provision.
