Lincoln City Green Leaders

Developing Sustainability, Leadership and Creativity skills
Saturday 28th May - Wednesday 1st June

Lincoln City Green Leaders is a free five-day programme (Saturday 28th May – Wednesday 1st June) that focuses on developing sustainability, leadership and creativity skills. Each day runs from 10am – 15:30pm at the LNER Stadium in Sincil Bank with lunches provided.

Holding Plant

There are 10 places available for young people aged between 16-18. On the programme you will:

  • Take part in workshops on topics like global sustainability, active design and leadership

  • Begin your green career with personal employability support

  • Learn how environmental change is made on a local, national and global level directly from those on the front line

  • Work directly with Lincoln City FC on developing sustainability schemes that impact the local area

  • Work towards a Level 1 Qualification in Employability

  • Receive a Lincoln City Green Leaders Certificate at a celebration event on the Wednesday evening

Saturday 28th May

Explore what we mean by Sustainability and being a Green Leader. Join global human rights researchers Not1More in looking at the current global attitude to sustainability and frontline environmental protectors.

 

Lunch: VEG-OUT

Sunday 29th May

A hands-on learning experience developing creative skills and mindsets. Taking a walk around creative community projects in the city before undertaking a litter pick in Sincil Bank to apply newfound creative skills.

Lunch: Good's Plant-Based Bakery

Monday 30th May

Work alongside Lincoln City FC to explore sport’s role in sustainability, and work as a team on a business challenge to develop new and existing sustainability programmes.

Tuesday 31st May

What does it mean to be a Leader? Find out in a session with global leaders before visiting Lincolnshire Co-Op to find out about their work in the community and what it takes to be a community leader

Lunch: Good's Plant-Based Bakery

Wednesday 1st June

Support local gardening projects as explore the concept of corporate responsibility and find out about future career opportunities.

Receive your award for completing the programme from the Mayoral party.

Lunch: Picnic
